WHEREAS, the proposed airport master plan update has been completed by Howard, Needles,
Tammen and Bergendoff (HNTB) to reflect the installation of an instrument landing system and
relocation of hangars to the west side of the airport; and
WHEREAS, the installation of the instrument landing system will substantially improve the
airport's safety and marketability as well as attract additional corporate aircraft to Leesburg Municipal
Airport; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the plan was held by the Town Council on October 10, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the FAA and the Virginia Department of Aviation have provided significant input into
the development of the plan and have indicated approval will be forthcoming.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
