The excitement and fun continues at Ida Lee
Park at 6:00pm when the gates open to
more than 20,000 locals for the “Celebration
in the Park.” Celebrate America’s big day at
Ida Lee Park while listening to the tunes of
Faded Image, a rockin’ band from the
Baltimore area that plays a mix of tunes
from 80’s to country to classic rock. You
name it, they play it. The band has been
featured all over the region, including
headlining at Sloppy Joe’s in Key West,
Florida, as well as the Hard Rock Café in
Baltimore. Front man Rob Byer has a long
history in the music industry having opened for stars like Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Charlie
Daniels.
Be sure to grab a bite at the event as plenty of food vendors will be on hand. Nothing goes
better with July 4th than burgers, hotdogs, ice-cream and funnel cake. Other culinary favorites
include BBQ, smoothies, and crab cakes.
The biggest bangs of the evening begin at 9:30pm when the largest fireworks show in Leesburg
lights up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be missed. Parking
is available at the interior lots off Ida Lee Drive, and the festival field parking off King Street. The
Town of Leesburg staff will work hard to insure that as many vehicles as possible are parked in
the park, so attendees are asked to be patient while waiting to enter and exit. The Town also
reminds our guests to use designated crosswalks.
Leesburg Fire and Rescue Volunteers will be on site to provide medical assistance. Coolers and
large bags are permitted but will be checked at gate entrances. Pets, alcohol, glass bottles and
personal fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted. In the event of rain, fireworks will
be rescheduled for July 5th at 9:30pm. No other activities will be rescheduled.
Special thanks to our 2011 Independence Day sponsors, including Northwest Federal Credit
Union and Leesburg Today/Ashburn Today newspapers.
