HomeMy Public PortalAboutM2001-01-25-LPFA_Sp014 LYNWOOD PUBLIC FINANCE AUTHORITY SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 25, 2001 The Lynwood Public Finance Authority, of the City of Lynwood met in a Special Session at 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 9:25 a.m. _ ~.= President Richards presiding. _~ Members Byrd, Rea, Reyes, Sanchez, and Richards answered the roll call. Also present were Chief Administrative Officer Davis, Assistant City Attorney Calsada, Secretary Hooper, and Treasurer Pygatt. Secretary Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in accordance with the Brown Act. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (Regarding Agenda Items Only) NONE PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS NONE Item# 5 DISCRETIONARY FUNDING FROM SENATOR BARBARA BOXER Staff has been contacted by Senator Boxer's office and been made aware of some possible discretionary funding opportunities to the City of Lynwood. They are asking that Council submit requests before the 9~h of February. Chief Administrative Officer Davis explained to Council he would like to input the Council Items to Senator Boxer. President Richards stated he would like to proceed with the Language Institute for the residents of Lynwood. Member Byrd stated he would also like to proceed with the Fitness Center. Member Reyes discussed adding a computerize program to the list. Chief Administrative Officer Davis stated he is going to work on upgrading the Language Institute Program, and also stated he would take all of Councils suggestions and concerns. It was moved by Vice President Sanchez, seconded by Member Reyes to allow -~- staff to negotiate with Barbara Boxer. ®15' ADJOURNMENT ~- ~.
