RESOLUTION NO. 91-16
A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED January 22,
ADOPTED January 22,
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A SUIT TO ENJOIN THE OPERATIONS OF
SHENANIGANS IRISH PUB UNTIL SUCH TIME AS ALL MEALS TAXES DUE
TO THE TOWN ARE PAID.
WHEREAS, Cavalier Investments Inc. trading as Shenanigans Irish Pub is delinquent in payment
of meals taxes to the Town of Leesburg for quarters ending March 30, 1990, June 30, 1990 and September
30, 1990 for the estimated amount of $3,067.81; and
WHEREAS, other normal legal channels have proven to be unsuccessful in an attempt to collect
these taxes:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Director
of Finance and Deputy Town Attorney, are authorized to file a suit in the name of the Town of Leesburg
pursuant to Sections 58.1-3953 and 58.1-3954 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended to enforce the
collection of the said taxes by obtaining an injunction prohibiting the defendant, its agents or employees
from conduct of its business, as a restaurant, until such time as all past due meals tax liabilities are
satisfied.
