AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES TO THE
CONTRACT WITH WILLIAM H. GORDON ASSOCIATES FOR ENGINEERING
SERVICES TO DEVELOP A DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS
MANUAL FOR THE TOWN OF LEESBURG
WHEREAS, in 1988, a consulting services contract was entered into by and between the Town of
Leesburg and W/lllam H. Gordon Assochtes of Reston, Virginia to prepare a Design and Construction
Standards Manual for adoption as part of the Town of Leesburg's Subdivision and Land Development
Regulations; and
WHEREAS, on March 13, 1990, the Town Council received comments from the public during a
public hearing concerning adoption of the Design and Construction Standards Manual; and
WHEREAS, the consultant and the Department of Engineering and Public Works met with
representatives of the design community on numerous occasions to review, discuss and evaluate the
Design and Construction Standards Manual; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant was directed to perform tasks which were beyond the scope of the
o 'nginal contract; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has requested a change order in the amount of $26,530.00 as
compensation for the extra work required for the completion of the Design and Construction Standards
Manual; and
WHEREAS, no appropriation is necessary since payment can be made from existing accounts.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Acting Town Manager is authorized to execute a change order to the contract with William
H. Gordon Associates in the amount of $26,530.00 for additional work required beyond the scope of the
original contract for development and preparation of a Design and Construction Standards Manual.
