AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE SCATTERED SITE SIDEWALK
REHABILITATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for
the Scattered Site Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received 2 bid proposals for the required
improvements as follows:
1. Amos Construction
601 Chapman Street
Hillside, N.J. 07205 $ 70.00 / Piece
2. Diamond Construction
PO Box 456
Dunetlen, N.J. 08812 $190.00 / Piece
WHEREAS, Amos Construction, Chapman Street, Hillside, New Jersey 07205, has
submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on file with the
Borough's Purchasing Department; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Purchasing Department and Construction Code Official has
reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the award of a contract to Amos
Construction for the Scattered Site Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project for the total amount
of $ 70.00 / piece; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Arcos Construction for the Scattered Site Sidewalk
Rehabilitation Project pursuant to the Borough Purchasing Department's
recommendation of award, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part of
hereof, for the sum of $ 70.00 / piece; in accordance in all respects with the
request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department.
Adopted this 20a~ day of May, 2004
and certified as a true copy of the
original on May 21, 2004.
