MINUTES
I . CALL TO ORDER
Vice-President Nanette Hanko called the meeting to order at
7 : 37 P .M.
Members Present : Richard Bishop, Edward Shelley, Teena
Henshaw, Katherine Duffy, Robert McKibbin, and Nanette
Hanko.
Personnel Present: Herbert Grench, Jean Fiddes , and John
Escobar.
II . BOARD BUSINESS :
A. Final Interviews of Applicants for the Position of
Director - Ward ,__._-
J. Fiddes reviewed the procedure to be followed during
the second round of interviews .
The order of the initial twenty-minute question and
answer period was :
1 . Betsy Crowder
2 . Isabel Sewell
3 . Helen Quinn
4 . Brenda Christensen
The Board recessed for a break at 9 : 00 P .M. and
reconvened for the meeting at 9 : 10 P .M.
The order of final five-minute applicant statements
was :
1 . Helen Quinn
2 . Betsy Crowder
3 . Isabel Sewell
4 . Brenda Christensen
After the candidates ' final statements , members of the
Board expressed their thanks to all. the final
candidates for participating in the selection process .
The Board, using signed ballots , selected Betsy Crowder
on the second ballot as the new Ward 6 Director . The
results of the ballot were as follows :
Ballot 1 : Sewell 1 vote
Quinn 2 votes
Crowder - 3 votes
Herbert Grench,General Manager;Board of Directors:Katherine Duffy,Robert McKibbln,Teena Henshaw,Edward Shelley,Nonette Hanko,Gerry Andean,Richard Bishop
Meeting 89-30
Ballot 2 : Quinn - 2 votes
Crowder - 4 votes
Motion: E. Shelley moved that the Board adopt
Resolution 89-54 , a Resolution of the Board
of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional
Open Space District Appointing Elizabeth S .
Crowder Ward 6 Director. R. McKibbin
seconded the motion. The motion passed 6 to
0 .
N. Hanko stated that Betsy Crowder was appointed to the
position of Director - Ward 6, and congratulated Mrs .
Crowder on her appointment .
J. Fiddes administered the Oath of Office.
III . ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 P .M.
