APPOINTING BARBARA MARKLAND AS CLERK OF COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Dorothy Rosen retired as Leesburg's Clerk of Council effective June 1, 1991 after
28 years of service; and
WHE~, Barbara Markland has been employed by the town for seven years and has served
as the Deputy Town Clerk for the past two years; and
WHE~, Barbara Markland's education and employment experience meet the requirements
for the position of Clerk of Council; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-4.1 of the Charter of the Town Code of Leesburg authorizes the Council
to appoint and fix the compensation of the Clerk of Council.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Barbara Markland is hereby appointed to the position of Clerk of Council effective immediately
at a salary of 29,658.00.
