A Resolution Approving the Agreement Between the Johnson County, A Municipal
Corporation, and the City of Tiffin, Iowa, A Municipal Corporation, for the Purpose of
Law Enforcement Protection for the City of Tiffin, Iowa For Fiscal Year Beginning
July1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin desires to have Johnson County, Iowa provide it with law enforcement
protection, and
WHEREAS, Johnson County, Iowa iswilling to provide said law enforcement protection to the City of
Tiffin, Iowa upon terms and conditions hereinafter set forth. by use of the Johnson County Sheriff's
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, inconsideration of the mutual covenants and agreements
hereinafter set forth, the parties hereto, legally intending to be bound hereby, do covenant and agree
for themselves and their respective successors and assigns.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Sheriff's Department will patrol and perform other associated law
enforcement functions in and for the City of Tiffin, Iowa totaling approximately 26.365 hours per week
at the rate of $31.00 per hour, to be paid in equal monthly installments of $3,541.75 per month for a
total of $42,501.00 annual.
On the 9th day of June, 2010, at a regular meeting ofAthe Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa Councilperson
Jim Bartels introduced'a Resolution Approving the Agreement Between the Johnson County, A
Municipal Corporation, and the City of Tiffin, Iowa, A Municipal Corporation, for the Purpose
of Law Enforcement Protection for the City of Tiffin, Iowa For Fiscal Year Beginning July1,
201'0 through June 30, 2011. and made a motion for approval. The'motion was seconded by
Councilperson Travis Weipert.

Absent: Chris Ball, Mark Peterse
WHEREUPON, Mayor Phillips declared that Resolution 2010-28 be adopted and signified his
approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
PASSED, AND APPROVED THIS 9T" DAY OF June 2010.
