AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1988 -12
BEING THE 1989 SALARY ORDINANCE FOR THE
CITY OF GREENCASTLE
BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City
of Greencastle, Indiana, that Ordinance No. 1988 -12, being "An
Ordinance Establishing The Size Of Departments of City Government
For The City Of Greencastle, Indiana, Affixing Salaries For The
Employees Of Such Departments For The Year Of 1989 And Affixing
Salaries Of Certain Other Elected And Appointed Officials For The
Year 1989" is hereby amended as follows:
1. Section Two is amended to read as follows:
SECTION TWO: That the Fire Department shall consist of
twelve (12) full -time members and one (1) part -time member.
Members shall be paid authorized overtime in accordance with the
Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. Longevity shall be
based on 38, 48 and 59 of base pay: at 3 -5 years - 39; 6 -11
years - 48; 12 -20 years - 58. Maximum base pay shall be as
• follows:
Fire Chief $20,511.91 + longevity
Assistant Chief 19,051.57 + longevity
1st Class Firefighter (2) 18,047.32 + longevity each
2nd Class Firefighter (3) 17,524.07 + longevity each
3rd Class Firefighter (5) 17,094.32 + longevity each
Part -time Asst.
Fire Inspector (1) 3,000.00 ($6.50 per hour)
maximum 32 hours per week
Longevity total: $ 7,419.05
2. Section Six is amended to read as follows:
SECTION SIX That the Sewage Department shall consist of
fourteen (14) full. -time members and one (1) part-time member.
Authorized overtime shall be paid in accordance with the Fair
Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. The maximum base pay shall
be as follows

That the Sewage Department shall pay to the Deputy
Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered
by the Deputy Clerk- Treasurer on behalf of the Sewage Department
during the year 1989 the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($2,500.00).
That the Sewage Department shall award a $500.00 increase in
salary for each employee who obtains Class I, Class II, or Class
III Operator Certification.
THIS ORDINANCE was passed and adopted this 1.4th day of
February, 1989,
