AUTHORIZING INVESTIGATION INTO ACTIONS
OF LIBRARY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret are responsible for providing municipal funds to
support the library in the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council as elected officials
have the responsibility to answer to the taxpayers of the
Borough of Carteret to ensure the proper expenditure of
said funds; and
WHEREAS, serious questions have been raised
concerning the actions of the Library Board in regard to
an individual employee who has received salary and
benefit increases in excess that which is in the best
interest of the Borough;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Borough
Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to conduct an
investigation as. to the activities of the Library Board
and to recommend a course of action to the Borough
Council. Said action may include, but not be limited to,
removal of the members of the Library Board responsible
for any misuse of Borough allocations.
Adopted this 16th day of February, 1995
and certified as a true copy of the
original on February 17, 1995.
