Restored B-17 “Flying Fortress” To Visit Leesburg Executive
Airport on August 18-21, 2011
Leesburg, VA (August 15, 2011) – On August 18 through 21, 2011, the Aluminum Overcast, a
restored World War II B-17 “Flying Fortress” bomber will visit the Leesburg Executive Airport.
During the warbird’s visit, the Experimental Aircraft Association will be offering flights and
ground tours of the aircraft.
One of only fourteen Fortresses still flying, the Aluminum Overcast is an icon of the Allied
strategic bombing effort that helped turn the tide of battle in World War II.
