" Attests Clerk" JANUARY 11; 1954 The Council of Bel Harbour Village met at the Village Hall,,Monday, January 11, 1954 at.8:00 o'clock P. M. There were present: Dr. Leonard and Messrs. Beatty, Collins and Stokely Absent: Mr. Brown Also present were W. H.Webb, Village" Manager; an Village Clerk. Mary Wetterer, The minutes of the previous meetings of December 21st and December 31st, 1953 were read and approved. It was moved by Mr. Stokely, seconded by Mr. Beatty, and unanimously voted that Mr. Webb prepare a resolution for Mr. Fred R. Baisden commending him JANUARY 11, 1954 for his service as Village Attorney and Judge and present it at the next meeting. Dr. Leonard read•to the council a letter from Mr; Suith of the Town -of Strfside enclBsing a copy of a petition to the County. Commission the ' sUrfside council had endorsed requesting that playgrounds be built for the children in the Haulover County Park, It was suggested that the Village Mana- ger acknowledge this letter. Dr, David Exley who was. present asked if he might ask some questions about the councilis action regarding the bank.parkidg. He said that he hadn't heard anything but -criticism against it. to it. Dr. Leonard said he would like to know why everyone was adverse Dr. Exley replied that he believed it was mostly because people didn't understand the matter and believed it to be a•park. Dr. Leonard said that he believed the least people could do whenthey didn't understand things was to come to the village hall and find out about them before criticizing and that he would be glad to talk to.anyone at`any,time. He said that he would like to explain to.Dr. Exley and, show hdm the map4 after the meeting was over. There being no further business before the meeting on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting was adjourned.
