AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED WAY OF WHITEWATER VALLEY
WHEREAS, The United Way of Whitewater Valley has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds that will be used by the Widowed Persons Service
operated by the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, a total local match Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-three Dollars and
Zero Cents ($15,583.00) is required, of which Seven Thousand Six Hundred
Dollars and Zero Cents ($7,600.00) shall be from the 2010 Budget of the
Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. The remainder of said local
match in the amount of Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-three Dollars
and Zero Cents ($7,983.00) is made by fundraisers and donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is hereby authorized to
submit a grant application to the United Way of Whitewater Valley.
2. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents
($5,500.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department,
shall be appropriated toward operating expenses related to Widowed Program Service.
Passed and adopted this 5th day of _October 2009, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
