King Street Hillsborough NC 27278 We would like to request planting of 3 small tree species in the right of way in front of our home at 158 West King Street. There are currently a variety of street trees planted along the north and south sides of the roadway. West King Street photos from the 1800’s show a tree lined street with most of them likely meeting their demise with construction of the paved road, sidewalks and utilities. We would be interested in working with the Hillsborough Tree Board to find suitable trees for the right of way in front of our house. Considerations for this area include power lines, ground slope, sidewalk, traffic signs and a loading zone area. We are interested in trees that have a single trunk with a more upright habit and will tolerate full sun. We have reviewed the Town’s recommended small tree species list- of interest are the Trident Maple and Serviceberry species. We would like to partner with the Town for optimal placement of the trees, assist financially, as well as commit to watering the trees as long as we live in our home. Sincerely, Vern and Laura Juel Attached photos below 158 W. King Street View looking East 158 W. King St View looking west
