AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES CORPORATION
FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
WHEREAS, The United States Corporation for National and Community Service has grant funding
available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds that will be used by the Retired and Senior Volunteer
Program (R.S.V.P.) operated by the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, a total local match of Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents
($16,450.00) is required, which amount is 30% of the total project of Fifty Four
Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty -Four Dollars and Zero Cents ($54,834.00), of which
Six Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($6,000.00) shall be from the 2010 Budget of
the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. The remainder of said local match is
made by donations and in -kind allowances.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to the United States Corporation for National and Community Service.
2. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Thirty-eight Thousand Three Hundred Eighty Four Dollars and Zero Cents
($38,384.00), contingent upon a total local match of 30% or Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred Fifty
Dollars and Zero Cents ($16,450.00), of which Six Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($6,000.00) shall
be from the 2010 Budget of the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. The remainder of said
local match is made by donations and in -kind allowances.
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department shall be
appropriated to fund programs and services provided by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
(R.S.V.P.).

City of Richmond, Indiana.
