A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED May 26, 1992 92-78 ADOPTED May 26, 1992 AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS AT KING STREET/MARKET STREET AND KING STREET/LOUDOUN STREET INTERSECTIONS W-I-IEREAS, the need was recognized to improve traffic control equipment at the intersections of King and Market Street and King and Loudoun Street to better control the increased traffic flow at variable times throughout the day and night; and ~rI-IEREAS, the Department of Engineering and Public Works recommends that a new protected southbound left turn movement at King and Market Street along with new vehicle detection equipment would improve traffic flow in the downtown historic district and reduce stacking on southbound King Street; and VV-I-IE~, funds to install this equipment must be appropriated from the fund b~l~nce. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as fo]lows: SECTION I. The Town Manager is authorized to direct the inst~llstion of a sig~slized protected southbound left turn movement and vehicle detection equipment at King and Market Streets. SECTION II. An appropriation is authorized from the General Fund Unappropriated fund b~lsuce in the amount of $8,000.00 to general fund number 4102-300-010-200 for fmcal year ending June 30, 1992.
