Home My Public Portal About1989-18ORDINANCE NO. 1989 -18 J AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIRING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIRING SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 1990 BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, 0 Indiana, as follows: SECTION ONE That all eligible full -time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of-the anniversary month of the fourth year of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4 %, and 5% of base pay: at 3 -5 years, 3$; 6 -11 years, 4$; and 12 years and over, 5 %. Full -time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. SECTION TWO That the Police Department shall consist of thirteen (13) full -time members and in addition, five (5) part -time school crossing guards. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: P5- Police Chief $21,112.00 + longevity P5- Assistant Chief 19,652.00 + longevity P4- Captain (3) 18,648.00 + longevity ea. P3- Sergeant (3) 18,125.00 + longevity ea. P2- Patrolman (3) 16,695.00 - 17,695.00 + longevity ea. P1- Parking Violation Officer 11,500.00- 12,368.00 + longevity C3- Police Secretary 13,000.00- 13,771.00 + longevity School Crossing Guards (5) ($9.00 per day each) 8,550.00 Longevity Total 5,998.00 SECTION THREE That the Fire Department shall consist of twelve (12) full -time members. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: P5 -Fire Chief P5- Assistant Chief P4- Captain (3) P3- Lieutenant (3) P2 Firefighter (4) Longevity Total $21,112.00 + longevity 19,652.00 + longevity 18,648.00 + longevity ea. 18,125.00 + longevity ea. $16,695.00 17,695.00 + longevity ea. 9,235.00 7 SECTION FOUR That the Street Department shall consist of seven (7) full -time members. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: L5- Superintendent $20,000.00- 20,000.00 + longevity L3- Mechanic 15,000.00- 16,230.00 + longevity L2- Machine Operator 13,000.00- 17,575.00 + longevity L1- Laborer 11,500.00 - 13,804.00 + longevity Part -time Gatekeeper 1,460.00 Longevity Total 1,281.00 SECTION SIX That the Department of Parks and Recreation shall consist of one (1) full -time member, three (3) seasonal members, one (1) part -time member, and in addition, pool lifeguards in the maximum allowable number. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: L4 -Park and Recreation Director $16,000.00- 16,000.00 + longevity Park Assistant 2,912.00 Pool Assistant Manager (2) 2,000.00 ea. Part -time Maintenance (at $3.75 per hour) 4,200.00 Pool Lifeguards ($3.75 per hr. for ALS, $3.90 per hr. for WSI) 12,000.00 *Pool Lifeguards (evening parties) 2,000.00 *Evening Pool Parties Pool party supervisor shall receive $15.00 per party. Pool party lifeguards shall receive $5.00 per hour. Salaries are to be paid from fees charged pool party sponsor. SECTION SEVEN That the Sewage Department shall consist of thirteen (13) full -time members. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: M5- Superintendent M5- Assistant Supt. M4- Licensed Operator M3- Maintenance Mechanic M3- Vactor Operator M3 -Lab Technician M2- Collection System Maint. Sup M2 -Shift Operator M2 -Shift Operator (2) M1 -Plant Maintenance M1- Collection System Maint. That the Sewage Department shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 1990 the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the Citizen members of the Board of Public Works on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 1990 the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). SECTION EIGHT That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven (11) full-time members and two (2) part -time members. on call wages shall be paid at a rate of One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars (125.00) per week. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall be as follows: M5- Superintendent $20,000.00 - 31,939.00 + longevity M5- Assistant Supt. 18,000.00- 24,700.00 + longevity M4- Service Foreman 16,000.00 - 24,688.00 + longevity M4 -Field Foreman 16,000.00- 20,573.00 + longevity M3 -Meter Mechanic 14,000.00 - 17,189.00 + longevity M2- Machine Operator 13,000.00- 15,077.00 + longevity M2 -Meter Reader 13,000.00- 13,207.00 + longevity M2 -Meter Reader 13,000.00- 13,000.00 + longevity M1- Laborer 11,500.00- 11,500.00 + longevity C4- Utility Office Mgr. 14,000.00- 20,345.00 + longevity C2- Billing Clerk 12,000.00- 16,619.00 + longevity Part -time (2 at $3.75 per hr) 6,000.00 Longevity Total 8,689.00 That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the Deputy Clerk - Treasurer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the deputy Clerk- Treasurer on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the year 1990 the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00). That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the year 1990 the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). is (2) That the Department of Water Works shall pay to each of the two citizen members of the Boards of Public Works of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board I of Public Works on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the year 1990 the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). SECTION NINE That the Department of Trash Collection shall consist of one full -time member. Base pay range, including the maximium, shall be as follows: C2- Billing Clerk $12,000.00- 12,600.00 + longevity SECTION TEN That the salaries of certain other appointed officials of the City of Greencastle shall be as follows: C5 -City Engineer $10,000.00 C4- Deputy Clerk- Treasurer 9,000.00- 9,000.00 + longevity C3 -City Hall Secretary 13,000.00- 13,080.00 Part -time Building Inspector 6,000.00 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana this 18th 989. day of July, 119 /� - - L Michael M.
