HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 68-7921 1 RESOLUTION NO. 67 -792 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY URGING THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO ESTABLISH STRINGENT STANDARDS CON- TROLLING THE MANUFACTURE OF GASOLINE AND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REDUCING SULPHUR CONTENT THEREIN WHEREAS, this City Council finds and determines that the sulphur content emitted from the manufacture of gasoline and petroleum products remains as a primary source and proximate cause of air contamination; and WHEREAS, neither the State Legislature, the local Air Pollution Control Boards, or the new Air Resources Board have taken appropriate steps to control such emission; NOW, THEREFORE, be and it is hereby resolved, that the City Council of the City of Temple City requests the State Legislature to exercise primary control over the regulation of the manufacture of gasoline and petroleum products for the purpose of reducing sulphur content emitted therefrom. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
