Artist René Dickerson & The Temptations to Appear at Medlin
Art Gallery in Historic Downtown Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (August 19, 2011) – At 12:00 noon, August 25, 2011, Town of Leesburg officials
will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the unveiling of artist René Dickerson’s latest painting
honoring the 50th Anniversary of legendary Motown group The Temptations. The event will be
held at Medlin Art Gallery located at 2 Loudoun Street SE in Historic Downtown Leesburg.
Council Member Marty Martinez will officiate.
Nationally acclaimed artist and Loudoun County resident René Dickerson’s works of acrylics on
canvas are a masterful marriage of colors that reach each person on a unique level. His
paintings can be found in the private collections of Bill Cosby, Oprah Winfrey, Berry Gordy and
many other such celebrities. René has a long standing relationship with The Temptations and
has provided artwork for their album covers over the years.
The Temptations will be attending this event honoring their 50th Anniversary. Known for such
hits as “My Girl”, “The Way You Do the Things You Do” and “Too Proud to Beg”, The
Temptations continue touring and releasing new music. The current line-up consists of Otis
Williams (the only original member of The Temptations), Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Joe Herndon
and Bruce Williamson. The Temptations will be appearing at Wolf Trap the evening of the 25th.
