A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT VEHICLE
IN THE AMOUNT OF $281,945 FROM MARYLAND
INDUSTRIAL TRUCKS FOR UTILITY SYSTEM PUMP AND
HAUL OPERATIONS
WHEREAS, the approved Fiscal Year 2021 Department of Utilities budget includes
funding in the amount of$350,000 for purchase of replacement truck for utility system; and
WHEREAS, quotes were solicited and received pursuant to the Virginia Public
Procurement Act; and the Town has opted to ride the Virginia Sheriffs Association Heavy
Equipment contract with Maryland Industrial Trucks, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Maryland Industrial Trucks, Inc. of Linthicum, MD is authorized by the
Virginia State Corporation Commission to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Virginia;
and
WHEREAS, the purchase price for the vehicle is $281,945 has been negotiated; and
WHEREAS, the Town's Chief Procurement Officer, Fleet Maintenance
Superintendent, and the Director of Utilities recommend purchase of the truck from Maryland
Industrial Trucks, Inc. in the amount of$281,945; and
WHEREAS, the purchase is sufficiently funded in the Fiscal Year 2021 Adopted
Budget within the Utilities Repair, Replacement and Rehabilitation (3-R) program.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
the Town Manager is authorized and directed to purchase the truck from Maryland Industrial
Trucks, Linthicum, MD in the amount of$281,945.
