HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 16-05 Idaho liquor license" City of McCall RESOLUTION NO. 16-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, IN SUPPORT OF EFFORTS TO CREATE A NEW CLASS OF IDAHO LIQUOR LICENSES WHICH WILL ALLOW RESTAURANTS IN RESORT CITIES TO SERVE MIXED DRINKS WITH MEALS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS WHILE MINIMIZING IMPACTS TO EXISTING LICENSE HOLDERS. WHEREAS, tourism is a significant economic component of resort cities; and WHEREAS, the City of McCall is considered a resort city by the State of Idaho; and WHEREAS, full -service restaurants in which cocktails are available with a meal are an important part of the tourist experience; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of McCall, Valley County, Idaho as follows: Section 1: The City of McCall supports efforts to create a new class of Idaho Liquor Licenses which will allow restaurants in resort cities to serve mixed drinks with meals for their customers. Section 2: Said support recognizes the value of existing liquor license holders and is not intended to reduce that value, and includes the need to keep this new class of licenses highly restricted, non -transferable, and introduced gradually so as to minimize the impacts to existing license holders. Section 3: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption and approval.
