HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 2019-12, Accepting Resignation Of Maggie Iverson From Planning Commission Due To Moving From Riverdale Effective March 31, 2019 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-12 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF MAGGIE IVERSON FROM THE RIVERDALE PLANNING COMMISSION DUE TO HER MOVING FROM RIVERDALE EFFECTIVE AS OF MARCH 31, 2019 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverdale("City") is authorized to maintain a Planning and Zoning Commission ("Commission") by Chapter 21 of the Riverdale City Code under authority granted by the Code of Iowa at Chapters 414.6 and 392.1; and, WHEREAS, Maggie Iverson was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission by Council Resolution 2018-19 on June 12, 2018 to serve out a vacancy on said Commission with a term ending December 31, 2021; and, WHEREAS, Ms. Iverson will be relocating from her family residence in Riverdale as a result of an employment opportunity for her family, effectively vacating Riverdale residency on March 31, 2019; and, WHEREAS, Ms. Iverson did notify in person the Mayor and Council of her leaving Riverdale at the Council meeting of February 26, 2019; and, WHEREAS, residency is both a practical and lawful requirement of the City and State Codes for membership on the Planning and Zoning Commission; and, WHEREAS, upon due consideration of her notification of her family's vacating their Riverdale address,the City Council desires to accept her resignation. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA: That the City Council accepts the resignation of Maggie Iverson from the Riverdale Planning and Zoning Commission, effective March 31,2019, with regret, thanks her for her service as an active member of the Commission,and wishes her and her family well with their move.
