HomeMy Public PortalAboutM2002-06-18-LRA (2)U~ LYNWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY REGULAR MEETING JUNE 18, 2002 The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency of the City of Lynwood met in a Regular Meeting in the Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 6:15 p.m. Chairman Reyes presiding. ~' Members Byrd, Pedroza, Richards, Rodriguez and Reyes answered the joint roll call for all agencies. Also present were Executive Director Gonzales, Agency Counsel Montgomery, City Clerk Hooper, and City Treasurer Pygatt. City Clerk Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in accordance with the Brown Act. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (Regarding Agenda Items Only) NONE PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS NONE Mayor Reyes requested that Lynwood Redevelopment Agency Public Oral Communications be joined with City Council Public Oral Communications. ~'~ ITEM #1 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: It was moved by Member Byrd, seconded by Vice Chairman Pedroza and carried to approve the following minutes. • Regular Meeting, May 21, 2002 • Special Meeting, May 22, 2002 • Special Meeting, May 29, 2002 ITEM #2 WARRANT REGISTER It was moved by Member Bryd, seconded by Vice Chairman Pedroza to adopt Resolution. RESOLUTION NO. LRA 2002.023 ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY RESOLUTION OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE DEMAND AND WARRANTS THEREFORE" ROLL CALL: AYES: MEMBER BYRD, RICHARDS, RODRIGUEZ, PEDROZA, AND REYES NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE REGULAR ITEM ITEM #3 DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT REVIEW ~~~, City Manager Gonzales stated that Manuel Simental, Owner of Mariscos El Paisa submitted a development concept of a restaurant/sports bar of approximately 7,000sq.fr. at the northwest comer of Long Beach Boulevard and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Mr. Simental owns other restaurants in Lynwood and Huntington Park. Louis Morales stated that proposal would include six (6) sites and require expanding parking spaces. He explained development concept to Agency Members. It was moved by Member Rodriguez, seconded by Vice Chairman Pedroza to approve the i Development Concept. ROLL CALL: AYES: MEMBER BYRD, PEDROZA, RICHARDS, RODRIGUEZ, AND REYES NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: NONE Item #4 REVIEW OF THE STATUS REPORT REGARDING THE SELAC HOUSING PROJECT LOCATED AT 11300 ATLANTIC AVENUE Redevelopment Director Louis Morales explained that the SELAC project is to develop the property and rehabilitate the existing 30-unit motel into a 14-unit senior citizen Housing complex. The project will begin construction next month. The property improvements will include new landscaping, fencing, a new driveway, and new asphalt parking lot. Anew outdoor recreation area with amenities for barbecues, picnics, shuffleboard and lawn bowling. It was moved by Vice Chairman Pedroza, seconded by Member Byrd and carried to receive and file this item. PUBLIC HEARING NONE INFORMATION ITEM NONE Chairman Reyes requested that Lynwood Redevelopment Agency Closed Session items be joined with Council Closed Session. Agency Counsel Montgomery requested anadd-on Subsequent Need Item under. Negotiating Parties: City, Agency and Bulletin Display to add Regency Company. It was moved by Member Rodriguez, seconded by Vice Chairman Pedroza to add Subsequent Need Item.
