HomeMy Public PortalAbout1954-04-19 Meeting141 APRIL 19, 1954 The Council of Bal Harbour Village met at the Village Hall, Monday, April 19, 1954, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. All the members of the council were present. Also present were W. H. Webb, Village Manager; Mary Wetterer, Village Clerk; and Thomas Anderson, Village Attorney, The minutes of the previous meeting of March 15, 1954 were read and accepted, rr. Webb reported that Mr. Beatty had suggested t`•at Calls Schoeppl do some sketches for the village hall with no payment involved. He said he had a meet— ing with Mr. Levy from Schoeppl's office and gave him the general floor plan he had worked out, Mr. Brown asked if there Mr. Webb replied that he yet. Mr. Brown said he regretted that the matter of the Manager's Salary had been peglected at the last meeting and asked Mr. Anderson for an opinion as tp how the salary could be raised. Tyr. Anderson sl:g_gested that an ordinance be passed citing the Manager's salary. After discussion it was moved by Mr. Stokely, seconded by Mr. Brown, an0 unanimously voted that the Village Manager's salary be increased to an annual rate of '10,200.000 such increase to take effect as of March, 1, 1954 and that he be paid ruch stun ns may be necessary to brim- the arrears up to that amount and also that the village attorney he instructed to prepare am ordinance for adoption at the next meeting causin.^ this motion to be put into effect. The audit for the first six months onerati.on was presentn-' to the council and after discussion on motion of Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. 3tokel:-, the audit was accepted. Mr. Stokel:: said that he hed met with Yr. Don Targar and that he had suggested that some parts of the pension plan be changed. Mr. Bergar then presented the APRIL 19. 1954 142 plan as revised. After discussion it was the opinion of the council that the village manager could tentatively include the plan in the budget for the coming year. Nr. Anderson was akked to check and give an opinion on whether or not the village could adopt such a plan without a special Bill from the legislattre. There being no further business before the meeting on notirn of Mt. Stokely, seconder' by Yr. Brown, the ne.a'ng was adjourned.
