VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD
MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 15, 2021
AT: VILLAGE HALL
BOARD PRESENT: J.ARGOUDELIS, K.CALKINS, P.KALKANIS, C.LARSON, T.RUANE,
B.WOJOWSKI, AND H.BENTON. OTHERS PRESENT: T.PLECKHAM, INTERIM VILLAGE
ADMINISTRATOR; J.HARVEY, ATTORNEY; M.GIBAS, VILLAGE CLERK; S.AMANN,
ENGINEER; A.PERSONS, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR; J.PROULX, PLANNING DIRECTOR;
J.MELROSE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER; AND J.KONOPEK, CHIEF OF
POLICE.
CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, PLEDGE
Mayor Argoudelis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken, all Trustees were
present. Mayor Argoudelis led the Pledge of Allegiance. There were approximately 4 persons in the
audience.
PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS
• Commented on Veterans Day Celebrations
• Stated that he would bring Plan Commissioner Appointments forward at the next Village Board
Meeting.
TRUSTEES COMMENTS
Trustee Ruane wished Mr. Spires well and a quick recovery.
Trustee Larson:
• Offered condolences to the family of Breckin Dean VanHyning.
• Expressed concern regarding invoices from legal counsel.
Trustee Benton:
• Offered condolences to the family of Breckin Dean VanHyning and requested a moment of
silence.
• Commented on the 10 -year anniversary of the PACE Bus on Shoulder program.
• Expressed concern regarding arguments at the Board level regarding legal bills and bickering.
Trustee Wojowski:
• Stated that the bills are not in question, but the direction that is given to the attorney is what is
being questioned.
• Offered condolences to the family of Breckin Dean VanHyning.
Trustee Kalkanis stated that there's no question regarding Mr. Harvey's integrity, but there is concern
about what he's being asked to do and why he has not been formally appointed.
PUBLIC COMMENTS (3-5 minutes)
John Cavanaugh expressed support for the House of Harvest project.
