Thomas Balch Library Commission Seeks Nominations for
19th Annual Loudoun History Awards
Leesburg, VA (September 19, 2011) – The Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission invites
nominations for the 19th annual Loudoun History Awards. Established in 1993, the Loudoun
History Awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to preserving
Loudoun’s past through the collection of county documents and memorabilia, the preservation
of historic landmarks, visual arts, writing and long-term involvement in local history
organizations.
Letters of nomination should include a brief statement in support of the individual’s
accomplishments, include contact information for the nominee, and be directed to:

Deadline for nominations is Monday, October 10, 2011.
The 2011 Loudoun History Awards will be presented on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 2:00
p.m. at the Thomas Balch Library.
History Award recipients in 2010 were H. Vernon Davis, Arlean Hill, Lori Hinterleiter Kimball and
Margaret T. Morton.
