Cemetery Resource Board Meeting

Nancy Thompson called the meeting to order. A quorum was present.
The Cemetery Resource Board met on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Small Conference
Room, lower level of the John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City,
Missouri.
Approval of the Minutes:
A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the April 21, 2016 meeting by Tim Theroff, Pat
Rowe Kerr seconded. Minutes were approved.
Old Business:
Discussion occurred about the new ordinance that would increase the Cemetery Resource Board from
five to seven members and possible names of people who may be interested in filling these new
positions.
A walk through of Woodland Cemetery and Old City Cemetery on June 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. was
scheduled to review the path of the cemetery walking tour that would be happening the next day on
June 4. The information signs about the historic people interred will be placed by their grave sites.
Balloons were discussed being placed at the location to help locate them. Nancy stated that restrooms
are available at the National Cemetery and they are listed on the map. Discussion occurred about
setting up the tables at the event and advertising replacement stones and engraving names on the
"Gone But Not Forgotten Monument". Also discussed was how much time each tour site would take.

A work day was discussed to happen before the event to help spruce up the cemetery. A tentative date
was set for Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
New Business:
Discussion occurred about Memorial Day flags and when to place them in the cemetery and who should
get a flag.
Other Topics and Issues:
The next Cemetery Resource Board Meeting was set for June 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Small
Conference Room at City Hall.
Adjournment:
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
