A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH FIELD
STUDY CENTER
Whereas, The City of Moab strongly supports the expansion of higher
education opportunities in Southeast Utah; and
Whereas, the City of Moab supports the goals of the University of Utah to
provide young people with the tools to advance scientific research and
knowledge of the qualities, assets and resources of the Colorado Plateau;
and
Whereas, the City of Moab strongly supports the creation of career
opportunities associated with the application of new scientific techniques
in service to humanity; and
Whereas, the City of Moab strongly supports efforts to find viable
solutions to the difficult tasks of promoting human progress while at the
same time protecting and preserving the beauty and resources of the
natural world; and
Whereas, the City of Moab understands and supports the unique role of
the University of Utah to unite the arts, the sciences and the humanities
in an interdisciplinary endeavor to better understand the world we live
in;
Now Therefore be it hereby resolved that the City of Moab wholeheartedly
endorses the concept and implementation of the University of Utah Field
Research Center at Entrada Ranch.
