A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACTFOR PROPERTY AND
CASUALTY INSURANCE FOR 1994-95 WITH USF&G AND KEMPER
INSURANCE COMPANIES AS PROPOSED BY THE AH&T INSURANCE
AGENCY
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to insurance providers for
property and casualty insurance coverage on March 9, 1994; and
WHEREAS, six proposals from insurance agencies were received on May 10, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the town's insurance consultant, McNeary Insurance Consulting, Inc., has reviewed and
analyzed the proposals for compliance with the RFP and a copy of their report was provided to the Council
by memorandum dated May 16, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Council's Finance Committee, insurance consultant and Director of Finance
recommend award of the town's property and casualty insurance for 1994-95 to USF&G and Kemper
Insurance Companies as proposed by the AH&T Insurance Agency.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The town manager is authorized to contract on behalf of the town for property and
casualty insurance for 1994-95 from the USF&G and Kemper Insurance Companies on the basis of the
proposal submitted by the AH&T Insurance Agency in the amount of $127,129.
SECTION II. The Council authorizes the town manager to enter into contracts with USF&G and
Kemper Insurance Companies through their agent, AH&T insurance agency, for the subsequent two fiscal
years without the need to competitively bid the insurance coverages specified in the RFP.
