AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH OWENS AND DOVE, INC., FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS, WESTERN
PRESSURE ZONE, PHASES 1 AND 2
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg duly advertised and received sealed bids on May 20, 1994, from
nine contractors to construct the Water System Improvements, Western Pressure Zone, Phases 1 and 2 project,
in accordance with published bid documents and pursuant to state and local procurement laws; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received was from Owens and Dove, Inc., in the amount of
$695,000.00; and
WHEREAS, funding is available for this project through the appropriation of $980,000.00 in the FY
1994 Budget; and
WHEREAS, this bid represents a $285,000.00 savings over FY 1994 programmed capital costs for this
project.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Manager is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract on behalf of the town with
Owens and Dove, Inc., in the amount of $695,000.00 for construction of the Water System Improvements,
Western Pressure Zone, Phases 1 and 2.
