Call to Order Vice Chair Larry Kolb called the meeting to order at 10:05 am. 2. Review and approve minutes from the meeting held on May 17, 2016. The minutes were approved. 3. Old Business – review last meeting’s proposed amendments to the code (see attached list to the minutes). This list will have items added as the review progresses. Final verbiage will be approved by the committee. The list was reviewed. No additions or deletions. 4. Continue review of Chapters 4-6 The review started at Section 408. Considerable discussion was held on local code for Historic structures for code interpretation. Currently, the City of Jefferson does not have Historic Districts. The question was raised as to what the City of Jefferson would need to do to have local designations? (The answer found out so far is to follow the process in Section 4 of City Code of Chapter 8. This would need to be followed to create a “locally designated” historic district.) The review continued through Chapter 4 -6. Discussion was held on what constituted repairs and levels of alterations. 5. New Business No new business was discussed. 6. Public Comments No public comments were made. 7. Next meeting date? ~ June 21st? The next meeting date was confirmed to be June 21, 2016. 8. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 12:01 pm. 2015 Existing Building Code and Commentary possible amendments: 1. Section 401.1.1 – Code – change “shall” to “may”; Commentary – change “must” to “should” 2. Section 401.2.3 – What are the existing seismic force categories for Jefferson City? 3. Section 406.1 -- Code – change “shall” to “may”; Commentary – change “must” to “should” – reason is for historic buildings for grants. 4. Section 408.3 – Add a 4th exception –“4. Historic districts.” Note – does this include Landmarks?
