1. Call to Order
Vice Chair William Luebbert called the meeting to order at 3:05 pm.
2. Introductions
The committee members introduced themselves.
3. Technical sub-committee expectations – what is expected from the sub-committee?
The committee is being asked to review the 2015 versions of the International Fuel Gas, Energy
Conservation and Mechanical codes. Discussion was held on value of the code review by
members of the community.
4. Technical sub-committee reports – what should be reported back and in what form?
The sub-committee will have minutes produced and eventually an ordinance drafted.
5. What is necessary to update the Steering Committee from the sub-committee?
The committee’s chair will report back to the Steering Committee since he is a member of that
committee.
6. What physical form of the code should be used?
Three (3) members choose a 3 ring binder version of the code to use for their review. Another
choose the PDF version and another will buy the code books. The binders should be ready the
week of June 6th with the Mechanical code.
7. New business
The members discussed the possibility of recommending adoption of the Mechanical code out
right. Part of the discussion led to the eventual creation of a mechanical licensing board, similar
to the electrical and plumbing board. Also, the question arose about the National Fuel Gas Code
(NFPA 54) versus the ICC version. The committee members wanted to verify what code Ameren
follows (Note: a follow up phone call was made to Pam Schaefer with Ameren and she stated
they follow the National Fuel Gas Code).

The next meeting date will be June 23, 2016.
