1. Call to Order
Chair Klindt called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. in the Small Conference Room of City Hall.
A quorum was present.
2. Review minutes of meeting held April 6, 2016.
The minutes of the meeting that was held April 6, 2016, were reviewed and approved by the
committee.
3. Review Chapter 1, Parts 1 and 2
Chapter 1 was gone over with considerable discussion about certain areas of concern from city
staff (primarily: administration; work exempt from permit; and inspections). Comments of
concern were also generated by Lynn Gastineau for certain sections: flood improvement level
(50%); exempt work (400 sf in lieu of 200sf for sheds); and Section R106.1.2. The committee
was recommended to go over the section briefly and then come back to it after the rest of the
code book was reviewed. The committee did go over the existing City Code Chapter 8 to see
how the code was adopted and what amendments were made.
4. Determine next chapters for review
Chapter 3 of the IRC was recommended for next time up to page 72 (or through Section R307).
5. New Business
-The process of review was discussed. It was decided that the review would be methodical and
go section by section to make sure all questions were asked.
-A copy of RsMO 67.281.1 was distributed. The statute requires fire sprinklers to be offered.
-It was recommended to add an “Old Business” section in the agenda next time.
6. Public Comments
