CHARGED FOR ALL REQUESTS REQUIRING MORE THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES OF STAFF TIME PLUS COPY COSTS IN ACCORDANCE TO THE IOWA CODE CHAPTER 22 PUBLIC RECORDS LAW WHEREAS: the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa has determined a need to implement fees to be charged for all requests requiring more than fifteen minutes of City of Tiffin staff time and costs for copying requested documents. AND WHEREAS: the City Council of Tiffin has examined Iowa Code Chapter 22 Public Records Law in regards to the Examination of Public Records, Custodial care of public records, Supervision of such records and the Copying of records. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: the City Council of Tiffin is implementing fees by resolution for the requests requiring more than fifteen minutes of City of Tiffin staff time to and copying costs to comply with the provisions of the Iowa Code Chapter 22 Public Records Law. The rates will be established at no charge for the first fifteen minutes. $5.00 per each additional quarter hour plus $.15 per copy requested. A printed form will be used to gather the requested information and allow up to three business days will be allowed �by staff to determine the costs and reply to the written request. Requested information must be in accordance to the requirements of Iowa Code Chapter 22. Future increases in costs will be determined by the Mayor and the Custodial Staff of Public Records as necessary. On this 10th day of February 2010, at a regular meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Council person Chris Ball introduced RESOLUTION 2010-06, A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A FEE TO BE CHARGED FOR ALL REQUESTS REQUIRING MORE THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES OF STAFF TIME PLUS COPY COSTS IN ACCORDANCE TO THE IOWA CODE CHAPTER 22 PUBLIC RECORDS LAW and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Council person Jim Bartels.
