Call to Order Chair Jim Wisch called the meeting to order at 10:01 am. 2. Review and approve minutes from the meeting held on June 7, 2016. The minutes were approved. 3. Old Business — review draft proposed amendments to the code for additions or deletions (see attached list to the minutes). The list was reviewed. No additions or deletions. 4. Review Chapters 7-8 The review started with Chapter 7. Considerable discussion centered on what work is exempt from permit. Possibly look at exempt re -roofing for asphalt shingles. Concern was for flat roofs and emergency repairs/replacements of RTU's. Affected sections were added to the ongoing list of proposed amendments. 5. New Business — next meeting assigned sections Chapter 8 will be reviewed at the next meeting. 6. Public Comments No public comments were made. 7. Next meeting date? "' July 5th? The next meeting date was moved to July le due to the holiday. 8. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 11:58 am. 2015 Existing Building Code and Commentary possible amendments: 1. Section 105.2 — refer to Sections 706 (reroofing) and 707.2 for addition or replacement of roofing or replacement of equipment — what is exempt from permit? 2. Section 401.1.1— Code — change "shall" to "may"; Commentary — change "must" to "should" 3. Section 401.2.3 — What are the existing seismic force categories for Jefferson City? 4. Section 406.1-- Code — change "shall" to "may"; Commentary — change "must" to "should" — reason is for historic buildings for grants. 5. Section 408.3 — Add a 4th exception —"4. Historic districts." Note — does this include Landmarks? 6. Section 702.5 — Eliminate window fall protection devices — reference ASTM F 2090. 7. Section 705.1.8 — Question the need for number of Type A units that are actually required versus mandatory. 8. Section 708.1— delete section -- IECC compliance required
