RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOW, RESPONSIBLE
PROPOSAL FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES FOR CITY HALL
AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
FOR THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA .
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the solicitation of proposals for the cleaning and
custodial services for City Hall and the Fire Department following the retirement of its long-
term, loyal and diligent custodian Myra Halsey; and,
WHEREAS; City staff did consult with Ms. Halsey in developing a request for proposals
for custodial services and upon soliciting firms and individuals, did receive and four proposals
with the following results:
Dean Halsey, Riverdale $375.00 per month
Professional Touch Cleaning, Davenport $406.35 per month
Merry Maids, Bettendorf $472.33 per month
Plus, one initial cleaning charge of $209.00, one time
Midwest Janitorial Service, Davenport $630.00 per month
;and,
WHEREAS, having reviewed the above-listed proposals for completeness, background
check and liability coverage, City staff does recommend accepting the proposal from Dean
Halsey, Riverdale, to carry out the janitorial and custodial services required for City Hall and the
Fire Department.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. That the City Council accepts the recommendation to accept and approve the
lowest cost, responsible proposal from Dean Halsey, Riverdale, for custodial services for City
Hall and the Fire Department.
Section 2. That upon receipt of a signed, dated independent contractor agreement and
evidence of liability coverage, that the Mayor shall sign and City Clerk attest the aforesaid
agreement for services with Dean Halsey, Riverdale, Iowa.
