A RESOLUTION SETTING THE VEHICLE MILEAGE FOR TRAVEL
WHEREAS the Governing Body of the City of Moab finds that the mileage allowance for
vehicle use has not been increased for seven years; and
WHEREAS the current City rates for mileage are $.17 and $.27 per mile respectively; and
WHEREAS there has been an average cost increase of 84% per gallon in gasoline prices since
the current City mileage rate was adopted;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
MOAB THAT THE REIMBURSEMENT RATE FOR THE USE OF PERSONAL VEHICLES
FOR TRAVEL FOR MOAB CITY EMPLOYEES, ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS
BE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Use of personal vehicle when a City vehicle is available - the mileage rate as
approved annually by the State of Utah.
2. Use of personal vehicle when a City vehicle is unavailable — the annual mileage rate
as approved annually by the State of Utah.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
Passed and adopted by action of the governing body of the City of Moab in open session
this 8th day of May, 2007.
