AWARD OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
PURSUANT TO LOCAL PUBLIC CONTRACT LAWS
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to provide legal services
in connection with 1994 Tax Foreclosures; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (N.JSA.40A:I 1-1 et seq.) requires
that the resolution authorizing the award of contracts for "Professional Services"
without competitive bids and the contract itself must be available for public
inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret:
l~ Joseph P. Schiappa, Esq. is hereby appointed to represent the Borough in said
services for a fee-not to exceed $3,500.00.
2. Said appointment is made without competitive bidding as a "Professional
Service" under the provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law because
legal services are a recognized profession, licensed and certified by law.
3. A notice of this action shall be printed once in The News Tribune on
April 25, 1995.
Adopted this 20th day of April, 1995
and certified as a true copy of the
original on April 21, 1995.
