AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA FINANCE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, The Indiana Finance Authority Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP)
grant program has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds
that will be used to defray the costs of the demolition and removal of the old
Indiana Gas Building (aka Vectren Gas Building) located at 16 Main Street,
Richmond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Finance Authority SEP grant program.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up
to Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to defray
the costs of demolition and removal of the old Indiana Gas Building located at 16 East Main
Street, Richmond, Indiana.
Passed and adopted this _7th day of _December 2009, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
