AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has grant funding available
through its 2009 Make Your Trees Count Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, through its Department of Parks and Recreation,
wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to
fund the park system tree inventory and a park system forest management
plan; and
WHEREAS, A local match of fifty percent (50%) is required and will come from in -kind
labor and local funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby
authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
2. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to
accept said grant funding in an amount up to Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00).
3. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby
authorized to provide the fifty percent (50%) match from in -kind labor and local funds, in
an amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00).
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to fund
the park system tree inventory and a park system forest management plan.
Passed and adopted this _7th _ day of _December 2009, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
