A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED April i1~ 1995 95-75 ADOPTED April 11, 1995 AUTHORIZING THE USE OF BALCH LIBRARY-GENERAL PURPOSE TRUST FUNDS TO HIRE AN ARCHITECTURAL FIRM FOR THE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING OF THE THOMAS BALCH LIBRARY RENOVATION AND EXPANSION , 1995. Clem, Mayor Town of Leesburg Clerk of Council PASSED this 11 th day of Apr i 1 WHEREAS, on July 1, 1994, the Town of Leesburg assumed the operation of the Thomas Balch Library; and WHEREAS, on October 18, 1994, Loudoun County transferred all assets of the library to the Town; and WHEREAS, on January 18, 1995, two of the three Trust Funds were transferred to the Town in the amount of $199,049.84; and WHEREAS, the Library Advisory Commission has recommended hiring an architect for the design and engineering of the library renovation and expansion; and WHEREAS, Loudoun County has already advertised for Requests for Proposals and short-listed five firms: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg as follows: SECTION I. Trust Funds from the Balch Library-General Purpose Trust in the amount of $193,748.26 is authorized to be utilized for the purpose of hiring an architectural firm for the design and engineering of the library renovation and expansion. SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to proceed with interviews of the five short- listed firms that submitted responses to Loudoun County's Request for Proposal.
