COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, JULY 18, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
The City Council “Pre-Meeting” of July 18, 2016, was convened at 5:46 P.M. by
President Pro Tempore Rick Mihalevich in the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Branch, Costales, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Mihalevich, Prather,
Schreiber, Ward, and Wiseman
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Amending Agenda: A request was made to amend the agenda at adoption to switch
items 7(a) and 7(b) as former Mayor John Landwehr had another commitment
scheduled, and switching those items would allow him to make his presentation earlier.
Bill 2016-22 (amending grant application process): Discussion was held regarding
the $5,000.00 limit for City Administrator approval. A suggestion was made that the limit
amount should be $25,000.00 to match the same limit for agreements wh ich can be
approved by the City Administrator. City Counselor Hilpert stated if the Council decided
to increase that limit a substitute bill could be brought up at the August 1 Council
meeting.
Resolution RS2016-14 and RS2016-16 (“Missouri Moves” grant projects):
Discussion was held regarding the grant program and whether projects submitted by the
City might take precedence over other projects submitted by the City.
