AUTItORIZING PURCHASE OF VEHICLES FOR THE UTILITY
LINES DIVISION AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION

WHEREAS, the current Capital Improvements Program and FY 95 budget, as adopted by Council,
includes purchase of a 3-ton dump truck and utility maintenance vehicle for the Utility Lines Division's
maintenance activities; and
WHEREAS, specifications were prepared and bids solicited for this procurement pursuant to state
and local purchasing laws; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bid was received from Koons of Tysons, Vienna,
Va., in the sum of $49,322.00; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid received exceeds the FY 95 appropriation for this purchase by $4,322.00,
thus, requiring an additional appropriation by Council; and
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Section I. The Town Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase one Chevrolet 3-ton
dump truck and one Chevrolet utility maintenance truck from Koons of Tysons, Vienna, Va., in an amount
not to exceed $50,000.00.
Section II. An appropriation is hereby made to Utility Fund Account Number 306.3120.700.705 in
the amount of $5,000.00 from the unappropriated Utility Fund balance for the fiscal year ending June 30,
