A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES AND THE
MOAB CITY ANIMAL SHELTER
Whereas, the Moab City Council must approve all fees charged for the animal shelter and animal
control services.
NOW THEREFORE, WE, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MOAB DO
HEREBY RESOLVE TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING ANIMAL CONTROL AND
ANIMAL SHELTER FEES:
Shelter Impoundment Fees:
Cats: $30 Impoundment Fee plus $5.00 per day of impoundment.
Dogs: $30 Impoundment Fee plus $10.00 per day of impoundment.
Impounded animal -at -large spay/neuter deposit: $50 refundable deposit if animal is altered
within 30 days of release.
Shelter Relinquishment Fees:
Cats: $25 if altered and current on rabies vaccination
$35 if altered and not current on rabies vaccination
$50 if unaltered and not current on rabies vaccination
Dogs: $35 if altered and current on rabies vaccination
$45 if altered and not current on rabies vaccination
$75 if unaltered and not current on rabies vaccination
Fees for Presentation of Strays at Shelter:
First two presentations of strays: Free of Charge
Presentation of stray after first two: $25.00 per stray
provided that one mother dog with puppies or one mother
cat with kittens counts as one stray
Adoption Fees:
$35 if altered and current on rabies vaccination
$35 plus $50 refundable deposit if unaltered and not current on rabies vaccination. Deposit is
refundable upon presentation of proof of spay/neuter and rabies vaccination within 30 days of
adoption if animal is over six months of age and within six months if animal is under six months
of age.
$35 plus $25 refundable deposit if altered and not current on rabies vaccination. Deposit is
refundable upon presentation of proof of rabies vaccination within 30 days of adoption.
Rabies Quarantine at Shelter:
$15 per day of quarantine

Rabies Deposit at Shelter:
$25 refundable deposit for all animals released without current rabies vaccination. Deposit is
refundable if proof of rabies vaccination is provided within 30 days of release.
Rabies Charge for Rabies Vaccination Performed at Shelter:
$25 non-refundable charge.
Veterinary fees for reclaimed animals:
Owners of reclaimed animals shall be charged the actual cost of any needed veterinary services
needed during impoundment plus 5%.
Registration Fees:
Lifetime registration for neutered or spayed dogs and cats: Free of charge
Annual registration for unaltered dog or cat: $25
Guard Dog Permit Fee:
Annual Guard Dog Permit Fee: $100 plus applicable registration fee
Breeder Fees:
Annual Commercial Breeder Fee: $100
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
Passed and adopted by action of the governing body of the City of Moab in open session
this 31st day of July, 2007.
