CENTER
Center was located in the center of Long Valley, about
eight miles south of Hoseberry. July 23, 1C89 a post office
was established at the Chesney Keeney ranch. Mr. Keeney se
rvara until June 30, 1940 when it was cloTed.
In 1904 Mx. Dowell built a school that carved the child-
ren of that area about one mile south of the c.mmunity.
Chesney Keeney oumed sx.4 operat3d a drug store, Barney
Gleason cored a blacksmith shop, and Dr. Scott was the phy-
sician for the area.
