THE BREWSTER BOARD OF HEALTH REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2005 AT 7:OOPM
TOWN HALL, ROOM A
Present: Joanne Hughes, Dan Brightman, James Reynolds, Nancy Ellis Ice, Health Director and Tammi
Mason, Administrative Clerk.
7:00 VFW-Tobacco Regulation violation
NI explained to the Board that she had received an anonymous complaint that people were smoking in the
VFW hall. Roger Gill and David Delano from the VFW were present.
Motion: Take this under advisement and keep it on the record, made by JH. Seconded by JR. 3
yes.
7:20 Frank Stroh-Lot 49 Frank D. Lawrence Cartway-unresolved complaints
Mr. Stroh told the Board that he is not living on this property; he lives with his girlfriend down the street. He did
dig an irrigation well himself. He has hired a surveyor. JH asked if Mr. Stroh could get a letter from his
girlfriend stating that he in fact does live with her. Mr. Stroh said that would not be a problem.
Motion: Get an uncertified plot plan to the Health office this week for the irrigation well that was
dug, a certified plot plan and the proper permits within 30 days or come back before the
Board at the next meeting, made by JR. Seconded by JH. 3 yes. Mr. Stroh was also
told not to re-attach the shower he had built.
7:30 James & Nancy Sheridan-variance request for horse barn
The Board questioned whether or not Mrs. Sheridan had notified abutters of this hearing. She stated she had
not been told that she needed to. The Board told her to notify them and come back to the October 18, 2005
meeting.
7:40 Coastal Engineering-variance request for 42 Konohassett Cartway
Dave Michniewicz told the Board that this was an existing two bedroom system built in 1988. The owners
would like to demolish it and rebuild. NI told the Board that back in '88 both the Board of Health and the DEP
approved the location of this system.
Motion: Have a ground water verification test done and shoot the elevations of the pond then
come back before the Board with information, made by JR. Seconded by JH. 3 yes.

1. Discuss 9/26/05 BOS meeting re: Warrant article on rabies
NI spoke about the meeting and the outcome which was that they would put $15,000 on the Warrant to offer
pre-exposure vaccine. They are putting off the ACO position until the May Town Meeting.
Bills to be paid: Motion: Pay bills, made by JH. Seconded by JR. 3yes.
