A RESOLUTION TO STANDARDIZE STREET NAMES WITHIN THE OFFICIAL CITY
BOUNDARIES OF TIFFIN, IOWA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa understands the need to standardize and limit
the names of streets within the official boundaries of Tiffin, Iowa.
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations made on Attachment "A"
for the purpose of standardizing names of streets and resolve confusion regarding
addressing.
WHEREAS, the City Council has not received objections to the proposed limit of names of
streets and the City Council has no other or significant concerns related to public safety,
traffic safety, or the cost of changing street signs, now
THEREFORE, BE IT APPROVED that the City Council directs the Mayor and City Clerk to
publish notice informing the public and all appropriate government units of the limited
street names. Street names will not include the name extension of North, South, East, or
West unless the streets are Goldfinch Dr., Marengo Rd, Third St, or Second St, or until the
City of Tiffin has a need to differentiate directions on a street name for addressing
purposes.
Motion made by Council person Bartels seconded by Council person Gericke to accept
and approve Resolution 2009-10 To Approve the Standardization of Street Names within
the Official City Boundaries of Tiffin, Iowa.
AYES: Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen
NAYS: None
ABSENT: John Wright
