AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY
CENTER
the FY97 Budget provides funding for construction of a Public Safety Center in which
WHEREAS
through 4; and
WHEREAS
it is the desire of Council to construct all the designed elements of the Public Safety
Center during initial construction.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Manger is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Dustin Construction, Inc. for
construction of the Public Safety Center in the amount of the Base Bid and Alternates 1 through 4 for the total
lump sum bid of $4,534,000.

WHEREAS.
to headquarter the Leesburg Police Department; and
WHEREAS sealed bids for construction of the Public Safety Center were received from ten bidders
on October 8, 1996; and
WHEREAS the bids were evaluated pursuant to the terms of the bid documents and the town
Purchasing Policy; and
WHEREAS Dustin Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of
$4,534,000, and was determined to be sufficiently responsible to be awarded a contract; and
the bid submitted by Dustin Construction, Inc. provided a Base Bid and Alternates 1
