OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
RESOLUTION NO. 7 -2009
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL AND EXECUTION OF
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF RICHMOND BOARD OF
PARKS AND RECREATION AND RICHMOND COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code 36 -1 -7 the City of Richmond
Department of Parks and Recreation is a public instrumentality of the
City of Richmond, a political subdivision of the State of Indiana that
may enter into an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Richmond
Community Schools, a public school corporation organized under the
laws of the State of Indiana; and
WHEREAS, Contract Number 167 -2009, known as the First Tee® Interlocal
Agreement was created under Indiana Code 36 -1 -7 in order that the
Richmond Parks and Recreation Department and Richmond
Community Schools (hereinafter "Parties) could implement the
National School Program known as "The First Tee®" which is
designed to introduce the game of golf to students through physical
education programs; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to provide the
Richmond Community School instructional staff and students with
access to the City's golf course facilities in order that Richmond
Community Schools can implement and conduct "The First Tee®"
program; and
WHEREAS, The First Tee® Interlocal Agreement (Contract Number 167 -2009)
which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" sets forth the proper
provisions required by Indiana Code 36 -1 -7 and sets forth the recitals
and obligations of the Parties that would allow The First Tee®
National School Program to be implemented and conducted at the
City's golf course facilities; and
WHEREAS, The Park Board believes it is in the best interest of the Richmond
Parks Department and the City of Richmond to enter into the First
Tee® Interlocal Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Richmond Board of Parks and
Recreation that the First Tee® Interlocal Agreement (Contract Number 167 -2009) between
the Department of Parks and Recreation and Richmond Community Schools be approved
and executed.
THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED THIS 22 DAY OF DECEMBER, 2009.
